Unlocking the Potential of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) for a Clean Energy Transition

SMRs, representing the next generation of nuclear technology, along with other low-carbon solutions they complement, like clean heat and hydrogen, could provide a transformative solution to our urgent energy challenges, particularly in achieving the 1.5*C global temperature target. Nevertheless, despite numerous potential advantages such as scalability, safety, and reduced construction time compared to conventional nuclear plants, the cost and public acceptance of SMRs remain challenging issues. Speaker Dr. Wison Luangdilok, a world-renowned nuclear safety expert with over three decades' experience at Fauske & Associates, a wholly owned subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric, USA, and currently the Principal of H2 Technology LLC, and an Adjunct Professor at JGSEE. He contributed significantly to the examinations of the Fukushima nuclear accident.
